Q1) What kind of training are you doing right now?
A) now we are practicing guerrilla tactics. when we have to move from one place to another or when we encounter obstacles on the ground, guerrilla tactics are needed as our way to arrive safely and quickly. we went through forestry, or jumped from high places and these were all guerrilla tactics.
Q2) You only have 1 week left to train. How do you feel?
A) To be honest, when I entered KATC. I said “I will finish training for 4 weeks and I will work as a public servant”. I'm a little worried about training after all.
KATC is an obviously weird place for me and my leg has been injured. So I thought "can I finish all the training safely?" and "can I cooperate with my platon friends?"
and I was very worried about whether I could communicate properly with the team leader and platoon leader.
everything feels so strange. I even feel weird when I look in the mirror, and it's really hard to finish sentences with the words' Da, '' Na, 'Gga.' Luckily, I quickly got used to the weird rules. this is just one of the characteristics of the army that we can easily predict.
before everyone actually says "goodbye" to family and friends, the team leader and platoon leader were very kind to us. they even spoke to us in a polite manner.
I imagined that the team and platoon leaders were aggressive and strong when we officially became members. but they are not bad. I want to tell everyone who will join the army, you guys "don't need to worry much, the days at this place are not that bad and I can cooperate with the other members well".
Our team and platoon leaders often ask us "are you sick?" or "do you have any limitations in training?" they took care of all of us, so I didn't have much trouble from training.
Q3) What were you worried about the most before entering the training camp?
A) I've had surgery and on my feet there are 7 iron bars. That's what worries me when I get a hard training.
To be honest, I as a singer feel I don't want to be seen as indifferent to military service. because of that I ran more, and I forced myself to train harder. Even though I was ordered to walk on crutches, I asked myself whether I should use that or not.
people tell me "you are the same member as the others, so if you have a physical disability you can walk on crutches". this makes me feel even more guilty as a public figure. anyone who joins the military need not worry about being sick or having a disability. you just have to say "I have a problem".
there is nothing to worry about. join the military without worry.
Q4) Why did you put So-Hee photos from Wonder Girls in your closet?
A) Oh! Since I joined the military, many fans have sent me photos of girl groups. I received a lot of their photos. in fact, girl groups were the best celebrities at the training camp.
girl groups give members psychological energy in real life. I remember before I became a training member, I said I was one of So-Hee's fans. so a lot of Super Junior fans sent me a photo of So-Hee from Wonder Girls. I have lots of photos of them. Team Leader and Platoon Leader and myself talked about this, so I was allowed to put a photo of it in my closet. isn't he cute? and also the photo of So-Hee is special because the fans gave it to me, not because I have feelings for her.
Q5) What is the most impressive training you can remember?
A) It's also special because I have the opportunity to do this, it can only be done at the training camp.
I wish I only had to use firearms at the training camp. this is good for us if we don't have to use firearms in the future. of course, active soldiers still have to use it. when I had to use the M16 in shooting training, I felt that the shooting scene in the film was a bit contrived. Dor! The M16 has high thrust.
I had an interesting story from pre-shooting practice. with the aim of scoring a good score, the scoreboard is placed in a stationary position with rubber. I had to hit the target, but I accidentally broke the rubber, which was hard to see. after that the chairman said "something only Super Junior can do, no one has done this before!"
In actual shooting practice I scored pretty well. there are shooting 200m and 250m right? I got through all the shooting drills on the first try. cool isn't it?
how much value I got, you just imagine yourself!
Q6) Then, what was the toughest exercise?
A) I think the 30km line running with the braided load was the heaviest, but the most memorable. I feel the beautiful night view is very amazing. I'm usually busy working in Seoul so I don't have time to look at the night sky. When running with the other members, I often ask "what did you do before being here?" and "what is it like to be a singer?" to know each other. I think of my family and Super Junior members as well while running
I never thought the night sky was so beautiful. by looking again i think about my friends and siblings. even though for 4 weeks we have had a hard training, I respect people who are 5 weeks training and also from other forces (land, air, sea and marines)
Q7) What gave you energy during the training?
A) Of course fan letters are best. Even though I got more letters before I got here, receiving letters from fans while being a member felt completely different. here, I'm thirsty for fan letters so I asked “is there a letter for me? I really thank my fans for their letters, but I asked Maa because I couldn't reply to them
especially the letter from my parents .. when I read it I said to myself "wow time flies so fast" and also Sunny and SNSD's Seo-Hyun who wrote me a letter. I'm sure they are busy at work .. so I want to thank them! Taeyeon from SNSD sent autographed photos and comments. thank you!. I had 4 weeks of training here but I feel very loved by many people. F(x)'s Sulli also sent me a letter! I have to pay attention to them after I finish the assignment. After leaving the military, I was an entertainer who was a little arrogant and naughty to fans and friends including SNSD and f(x). I really have to be a friendly person to them! Ha ha
Q8) A final word for your fans?
A) Hello! I'm big space star Kim Heechul. I finished my training for today and am going back to camp.
Thank you to my fans for your endless love. I love you
Chung-Seong!
and to the platoon chairman who allowed me to do this. This is a special version of saying goodbye to my fans.
I have to go. I love you all!
